Louie Louie (Philly)

Welcome back with another “other city” location, Philly! I went for a weekend for Steph’s birthday and we indulged in all of our foodie desires. Our first stop on our Philly food tour was brunch at a cute spot called Louie Louie.

We had all ordered our own entrees but half of them were regular ass omelets that weren’t even correct by the time they got to the table. I’ll explain the slight shade later but for now let’s get into it. First we have the pea soup which was so delicious. It was a such a great texture and full of flavor. This actually started off a pea soup tour throughout our Philly stay. (I’ll let y’all know which was the best one on my last Philly post!). Next was a special of the day which was a corn beef hash with deviled eggs & arugula salad (it was made originally with sunny side up eggs). This was actually my favorite dish at brunch. The flavor was really good but I would’ve preferred it be done with scrambled eggs or a fried egg initially because there was nothing to eat the runny egg yolk with since it didn’t come with toast. Last and very least is the duck confit toast.

First of I was so excited to order it cause I love duck but the damn toast was cold af. There was almost no flavor and I was hungry and after I ate it! I’m getting upset just thinking about it so I’m gonna stop and woooosssaaaa.

On a better note the monkey bread was the STAR OF THE SHOW. I mean you can mess up sugar and bread right? It was so so good and I’d go back just to have that again.

All in all I wasn’t really impressed with my experience at Louie Louie. Our server wasn’t the nicest & very inattentive and the wait for our food hit about an hour which was ridiculous to be ESPECIALLY because almost half the orders came to the table wrong. We were hangry, OKAY?! I would like to give Louie Louie the benefit of the doubt though because maybe they thrive at lunch and/or dinner time. I wouldn’t mind finding out for myself because it’s such a cute spot to take pictures in and a nice atmosphere. You can find out for yourself as well https://louielouie.restaurant/menu/
